As as an owner I feel the review gives an objective opinion on Osprey and the Vipermax.

I'm a big fan of the osprey hull. Punches well above its weight and also a big fan of the "tucked in" tube on the bow's which make it (impossible??) very hard to stuff.

Of course driven like an arse you can stuff anything.

What the osprey (viper) bow does is hugely reduce the stresses imposed on the bow area of tube when this happens and also as a side effect greatly reduce that "it's raining" effect that follows a good stuff in a rib.

It was actually caused by helming too cautiously. I was trying to ease her over some hefty, head on swell to avoid slam, as I had small kids onboard. A slam may've been preferable. Sort of lolloped over one and then speared into the trough of the next one.

The ballistic I had was particulary prone to a stuff as it was quite flat in the bow and worse still had a more classic tube overhang which always worried my. Luckly Ed (ribraff) did a cracking job with a new tube just after I bought it and his glueing stood up to all my attempts to test its adhesion.

Before this, long before, I had an "incident" in a vector RIB, detrived from an osprey hull ? That had so much tube overhang the bow ripped clean off as i ploughed into the back of a wave.

The scorpion I have now has a lot more rise in the bow, but Ive still managed to stuff it. The more forgiving the faster you drive and harder you push it.

Ive thread hijacked again haven't I.

I'd love another osprey.

Now that I can agree with, although being a confirmed arse (), I still managed to douse both myself and crew. All it took was a loss of concentration for a few seconds.
Once in 7 years with the Osprey doesn't seem too bad.
