I have been over many times with Fareham Twinning group and on Holiday staying near Conleau. It's certainly a Beautiful town and had many enjoyable evenings sitting outside the Ocean Café opposite the Harbour. I have made some very good friends and intend to go RIBbing around the Gulf one day.

Whouaaa that is amazing you kow about "café de l'ocean". Yeah conleau is really good too.

You should come and rib in the gulf. it is a wonderful experience. Unfortunately since two years the marine police is everywhere and they are looking for any speeding motor boat (the speed limit in the gulf is 5knots........no comment). So now we have to move to isle of "houat" or "belle ile" or "hoedic".

I think lowering the engine is a must and then having the range on the jack plate to lift it up to achieve maximum speed.

You are then looking at trying different props and deciding what works best with this set up.

Looks like and amazing set up althought I am suprised that you are not getting more support from Bruge Marine as they know more about racing these things than most.

Hi, thanks for you advices.

The thing that I bought the boat with the french importer who currently closing his activity. Then the assembly has been done in mercury performance center yard in France but who are not familiar at all with the "planning pad". It was the first time they saw that on rib. They used to set up only revenger and solent rib.

I saw on your profile that you are a vipermax owner. Does your boat have this "drift effect" on the pad sometimes. How fast is it going ?

Thanks.

Yes sure.
But I find couple of vipermax owner in holland who are riding with mercury 275hp verado at the back and yamaha 300 hpdi which are much heavier engine than the mercury 300xs. And aparently they do not have any problem.

The things that this effect only appear when I reduce the speed. Indeed when I am at wot the boat is fine. But as soon as take the throttle back the boat start to go side to side dangerously and I have put the throttle back on to avoid the effect.

How fast is going your rib and which can of prop you are using four or three blade ?

Thanks.

Ok thanks. So you are going quiet fast even with a 150hp. Then I should find extra top speed with my 300hp. should not i ?

And how doing the boat in curves ?

What is the layout ?

As you can see on the left we've got the closest set up to yours so as an owner with a very similar boat - right down to console and seating and the fact that we both boat en Bretange- I will post properly in response later when I'm on a computer. I will also pm you about a few other things

Ok that could be very helpful.

I saw on the profile that you have got a vipermax 7.20 ? Is it the same hull as mine or bigger?

How is it going with 250 e-tec ?

Thanks.

If you take a tape measure to yours you will find it is at least 720cm probably more, this is of course includingthe tube overhang, ofcourse te 6.5 is the same: it is actually 6.7m if not more.

And also we run the 250HO which is theoretically only 25hp less than you - ie 275. On the train back from boatshow ATM, I will post a proper reply and pm you in less than an hour!

yes the envirude 250 like the mercury 250xs develops around 275hp at the propeller. They come from the "racing" department.

Yeah, but it's knowing what to do with it. Jimbo's 198hp was more than enough on the day.
