Hmm, confused now. All I know is our old ones weighed as much as me by end of season, took days on the Aga to dry out

Well that must have been closed cell then, open cell the water just passes straight through.

I don't think you can avoid a wet bum when you sit down regardless of foam type.

poly 6 my seat bases, then i had them cnc to slot in the top of the seat box neva rot as strong as steel

I used phenolic ply for mine. Still in good order, but the boat hasn't been in the water much.
