Osprey 8.2

Does anyone know anything about these boats - they look a bit commercial but look safe and well built. Engines ? - from what I can gather they were built for twin 225's
Any advice appreciated

Great ribs IMHO, but very wide so you might have problems towing them. Was called the Falcon range and produced from about 91 onwards.

Yep, and because of the beam, well suited to twins. One of the most stable sea boats out there with very strongly built hulls and heavy duty hypalon tubes.

In fact, I'd say they were a better rough water boat than the Vipermax although not as fast due to the much heavier lay up.

This is the 6.6, the only boat I've ever regretted parting with....

well i managed to pi$$ off most of the early racers in the 8mtr Viper Offshore, built like a tank, beamy where it matters - very useful tool........ but we designed it and built it for the dive market - and we sold many into the north sea......the old viper 5.2 was a plug from that mould also.....

Not really - only last time I was in Gary's garden looking at her, I was seriously considering taking her on as a project!

Best of luck with her, and I look forward to seeing any photos of the build as she gets on the water...
