Oops!

Guess even the 4th emergency service can get it wrong occasionally

I think you will find that the only involvement of the Coastguard was to call out other people to rescue the lifeboat crew. So do not see what they got wrong!

Out of interest I didn't realise that the Emergency Services came in an oder, who is first?

I was thinking of the RNLI as the 4th emergency service; after the AA advert a few years ago which upset them all so much and probably with some justification.

Every service has a seniority, it used to be the RN until they mothballed the fleet in Portsmouth but now I am not sure.

If you include the RNLI as an emergency service, rather then rescue units, which one are you missing out, police, fire, ambulance or coastguard?

I bet the crews faces were the same colour as thier boat when they saw 2 lifeboats and a helicopter coming over the horizon to thier assistance.

I've had several discussions with D Manning and he definitely reckons the Fire Brigade is the 1st and most important emergency service. He was a Paramedic for many years so he should know.

It's not that unusual to get chucked out of a RIB why else do we wear lifejackets dry suits etc . If they don't go out in the rough to practice then they it may well prove problematic if they had to go out in the rough. Good on them....Glad they are safe

Shame on you for distorting my words. Everyone knows that the Paramedic is the aristocracy of the emergency services. The squirters are all charlatans and chancers. The buggers at our local station were caught growing cannabis in their nicely tended window boxes. It was good stuff too. There was a major flap with the top brass from the Police and Fire Service involved in resolving the situation without any bad publicity. Green watch blamed us for setting them up. As if.

You do hear these stories dont you. Someone told me this story of some Paramedics feeding a Squirel Steroids on a daily basis, this squirel was aparently mazive and used to chase dogs down the road
