Another record for Scorpion?

It would be nice to see some real competition.

Come on you "big boat" (non-Scorpion) owners - Are you going to stand by and admit that Scorpion make the best boats???

I may own a Scorpion 8.5 but I am personally not convinced.

There must be some big budget non-Scorpion owners out there ...

I think you'll find that one or two people are currently gearing up campaigns with other boats at the moment. Names will be familiar to Mike and Dave as they've nicked records from them in the past...............

So what is a standard Scorpion? Name 2 that are the same . GJ builds boats to individual requests and they all come out differant and all perform in differant ways. Do not belittlle the achievements of those that gain World Records in such a slack manner when you see fit to post pictures of a hull cleaning exercise at low tide.....

I am NOT belittling the achievements of Hot Lemon. What they did when they did the "Round Britain" event was truly awesome as I HAVE said before!!! To have come so close to the time of the Bradstone Challenger was incredible.

The point I was trying to make when I said it wasn't a standard boat was quite valid I thought and NOT meant to be nasty. Obviously there is really no such thing as a standard RIB but I think Hot Lemon is much closer to a race boat than it is to a cruiser which is the sort of boat Scorpion normally build!!!

Hi All,

Many congratulations Mike & Dave.

It is good to see that Ribs are still challanging the elements.

However, it never ceases to amaze me that some people still try and belittle other peoples achievements.

Whether you set out to set a new World Record or take your first trip out on your own, Someone will try and undermine your accomplishment. I suggest you just revel in the satisfaction of your own personal success, however large or small in other peoples view.

So why do they do it ?

Just to get a rise out of an individual? Or are you just sitting at home turning green with envy that you have not got the bottle to get out of bed!

I for one relish in my next challange to try and beat A.P's record to cross the Atlantic. Whether it is ever achieved is irrelevent the thought of trying keeps me going.

We all need an aim or goal in life and if setting World Records is your own personal goal then so be it.
