And Jean, no it is not at all sad! Some of the best and most adventurous RIB drivers I have known are girlies. There is one lady locally who continues to out drive her very nicely rigged RIB, much to the disgruntlement of the testosterone fueled speed freaks that get in her way.

Lee from Leeway was really good during the build. No problems with communication. The product is bloody well built as well.

ah well, cant keep mine outa boats - in the latest humber advert in sportsboat mag my "other half" girlie is driving the 8m 300hp rib at 60mph ish.
my other girlie- daughter -is m'boss on the jet drive cats here-and woe betide anyone who doesnt look after them engines, her pride and joy.
Them girlies will take over on day, we need equality for men. Well I do!

I haven't visited this site for probably 9 months to a year and only posted once I think..

The boat for sale in this thread is I'm fairly certain Humbers commercial variant the RH600, I'm certain because I own one myself. If I remember there where four boats initially ordered numbered H1 to H4 . They did service in the South Atlantic on Fishery Protection work with J H Marr trawlers of Hull.. Humber did supply later boats for F/Patrol work but this boat looks like one of the originals.
A good friend owned one of the sister boats to mine up until approx 6yrs ago, he fitted Mariner 55 commercials on his and it would scrape 30knots lightly loaded, if it is an RH600 they are v/heavy but tough boats..

Interestingly mine has no I.D plate and neither did my pals..

99% sure now, thats my pals old boat, he's in Malta at the mo and out of touch but looking at the photos there are scars where we cut the supplied haversacks off the tubes up in the bows either side, thats a Tornado console, the mould was taken off mine and flanges added to the base, it was originally orange..The A frame was made locally, I wish I had the time to dig out old photos to match up but hey small world that boat was sold on Boats and Outboards approx 6yrs ago to Scotland and is not an Ocean Pro its too early. the D section and flat straking was refurbished at Humber shortly before it left Yorkshire..It used to use 5gall every 15n/miles..
I might be wrong but don't think so..

No problem, just bizarre I've been offline for months. come back log on see this...

I'm still 99% sure on the boats provenance, there is nothing bad, the vendor probably doesn't know the history ,As I've said there were no I.D plates when we bought them in 1992, they were then 2yrs old..Engines were new in 92, I spoke with Frank Roffey at Humber at the time who told us what we had bought..
Proper boat, not a toy, again not an Ocean pro, have bumped into people around Hull/Yorkshire over the years who worked on Fisherys and remember rising and falling 15' alongside sterntrawlers in South Atlantic trying to put inspectorate aboard..
There are other Fishery ribs out there but this is an early one, good boats, I still I own ours 17yrs later....

Again I hope this helps someone, good luck finding the boat for you, if you want any more history, info, etc PM me (can you do that on here?)...

Its the seller of the rib you didnt buy!
Thought I would join in on the forum.
A fellow member said that my rib is the talk of the rib world at mo!
I didnt get the re-listing fee either to let everyone know!
Anyway have you found anything else you like yet?

Im the owner of the rib.
And it seems to be this could well be the rib in question!
I bought the rib from someone in Scotland and from the info this is the boat.

Talk of the R.I.B world !! Well I hope it helps you get a sale Jules,If I raked around in the attic I have pictures of your R.I.B when it was up here, there is a picture of its sister boat (mine) on here, in the 'Show us your Rig' thread..You would see why your ebay listing stopped me short (small world)..
Anyway I have nothing bad to say about these boats, perhaps they are a little heavy as they are a commercial spec boat, double skinned tubes etc but a very good sea boat built to a high spec....

Yes - your boat has certainly caused a lot of discussion

And no you did'nt get the listing fee

And yes I have now found something that fits the drive although I doubt it will be as fast or safe as your one - but hope its a good starting point.

Sorry to see it did'nt sell for the second time - hopefully soemone on here might be interested and you can agree off eBay
