Notices to Mariners

Okay, I'm confused (yes, I know it's obviously very easy to confuse me). I am collecting a rather nice portfolio of charts (www.chartsales.co.uk), mostly new but a couple are second hand and current but may need updating.

I have the Admiralty site with the 'Notices to Mariners' bookmarked and have had a good look at the site. Is there any way of searching for any relevant notices to the charts by chart number? That way I can just look to see if I have to amend any of my charts.

It should be simple these days - just type in the chart number on some sort of search engine and any relevant amendments (notices) are listed. Or, do I have to check each week to see if any of my charts are listed?

Two thoughts:
I assume you e-mailed your request direct to the Hydrographic Office? What did they say?
Secondly I tried this link

and got a download in Acrobat format for Chart 3279-which is listed in their index in numeric order-what am I missing?

Good morning all

Well those nice people at the UKHO must have been reading RibNet Forums because when I dropped into their site this morning I found the following:

"A new facility will allow you to search the online Admiralty Notices to Mariners database. Search by Chart Number, NM Number or NM year... "

Well that will certainly make life easier when it comes to updating second hand charts.
