Nitrogen filled Tubes

Does anybody use Nitrogen to fill tubes from empty? This would and does make pressure changes due to heat/cold null and void.
Assuming tube material to be non-reactive to Nitrogen. In emergencies air can be added with no adverse effects.
Seems a good idea to me as long as there's a regulator and no leakage.

I used to use a common mix with 79% Nitrogen in mine. It caused no problems with the tubes but I did notice some expansion in sunlight.

It was before the Repeal of Boyle's Law, so I was having to make do with what was available.

All that singing.......so Susan is now passing laws. How repealing.
So you had some Nitrogen hanging about..........just enough to fill 79% of your tubes?

willk, in my excitement at my new invention of Nitrogen I sped read your maths and it's caused a headache. Oh how my head hurts. Now I see the light. I thought you'd only filled your lung tubes 79% and was going to say that was why they had expanded so much. Have you tried Nitrogen in your sponsons?

I once had a Defender,
And kept it on the fens,
Now all I have is my tyres,
Because of those damned oxygens.

Isn't the major benefit of using nitrogen over atmospheric air is that the nitrogen will have a lot less moisture, which is the major factor in heat related pressure change.

Perhaps another line of enquiry should be "Has anyone use silica gel sachets in their tubes?'
