Newquay wales

Hi,

I'm returning to my old stomping ground next weekend and plan to launch from Aberaeron for a few hours fishing near newquay.

has anyone ever fished/boated here? i'd appreciate any local knowledge

Yes, a nice bit of coastline.
You'll have HW +/- around 2 hours for launching in Aberaeron harbour. H/master used to be dead fussy about seeing insurance certificates before he let you launch - not sure whether this is still the case.
Worth popping down to Newquay for a spin or up to Aberystwyth, depending on what you're looking for and/or how long you're out on the water. Take care if you're out for 2 tides, as there's not a lot of shelter on that coastline(only New Quay, really), if things turn nasty.

Planning a 2 tider

Thanks,

i'll take my documents just in case. i think we'll look for a 2 tider as we're pretty hardcore fishers, although my boats only a small jet so we'll have to gauge the weather at the cut off point!

Well, with a small jet boat, if you're caught out by the weather, provided you can get to New Quay, you could always run it into the harbour and leave it on the sand.
