Looking through the For Sale section, I've spotted what appears to be the sort of boat that fits the bill. It has enough seats, is a fair size (6.5m) and looks in decent condition. Trouble is, it's been for sale for a while and reduced by 4.5k.
Now is that because it was vastly overpriced to start with, or is there something more sinister that I haven't picked up on, being new to all this?
I don't want to directly link to the advert in case I breach some forum rules/protocol, but the boat is a Humber Destroyer. I have mailed the seller, but am awaiting to hear more.
Can anyone shed any light?

Cheers

Humber Destroyers are good boats, not fancy but solidly built.

The price sounds good, not necessarily "too good to be true" but on the appealing side.

Given your cruising area I would want to know lots about the engine.

Edit: Just tried to find it, my eye was caught by the Channel Islands based 6.5 Humber for 6,500 - nice boat that one.

I would think it was a bit pricey to start with, and now seems quite good value. I don't know the age of the hull though, and I don't know either the boat or the vendor so I'm only going on what I've read.

I think that is the one he is referring to - it was originally on at 11k.

No issues with linking to boats either here, or elsewhere that you are considering. Here's the link for anyone else who has a view: http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=35845

Yes - that is the one. Reason I didn't want to link was in case I offended the owner by querying it on the forum.
