The chap was telling me that the arms are machined out of a solid block of marine grade aluminium alloy, which sounds expensive.
I am sure it would be possible to use pressed steel and welded in collars, or drop forging the aluminium.
750 is quite a bit cheaper than the ullman seats, and I presume they sell.

I'd have loved a Sea trial, but that proved impossible due to it being a two seater and me having my two kids with me.

As for the comfort, it felt OK, a little hard but there was a promise that a new neoprene cover was being developed for further comfort.

750 does seem expensive, but if proved to be as good as the other shock mitigation seats I saw today would be very good value and a fraction of the cost.

The other advantage is that you'll be able to use it with standard jockey seat pods, so won't compromise on the storage (very important in a small RIB) and easy to retrofit on any jockey. This might me a very popular seat if the price comes down and might cause a storm in after market sales.

So I for one will be keeping my eye on it.
do you have a contact? please send a pm

I'm going to make the assumption that this is what he needs to be selling this product today to guarantee a return. There for if this takes off big time I would expect the price to come down to about 500 per unit which is cheap in comparison to a double console costing 1000 or an A frame at 800 etc. How much would upholstery cost on a standard seat base and back? 150?

So you think he'll drop the price by a third if it sells??

Doubt it somehow-it's cheaper than Ullman's offering so if it sells he'll have the price right.

Besides,it's too specialist a product to make it high volume, low return.
