Hmm

I take my hat off to the company

if they can sell it for 160 K they deserve to be knighted cos that must have the smallest, most niche, limited market there ever was

I know what you mean altough they probably don't intend to sell thousands and they are usually sold for tenders in superyachts. Thats what the first 2 were sold for.

I also reckon if you added up everything the boat has got and the work that is put into it that 160k isn't bad (well justified).

A lively debate ensued on another thread pertaining to the price of ribs. In many cases, and this particular rib proves my point, it is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. If you want a Scorpion, Revenger, or any one of the other more 'expensive' ribs you are just going to have to pay for it. It is an entirely different market to the 'workhorse' ribs like Humber, Tornado etc.
Its your money and you can buy whatever you can afford (or not)!

Absolutely stunning craft though - wish I had a couple of those turbine engine's posted on another thread, in a 10m open Scorpion. One can but only dream!

New Scorpion

Good idea charles

A 10mtr scorpion with 4 gas turbines on the back, that should be quite quick, Probably scare you to death.

Gas Turbines

I think Gas Turbines are the where the future is in fast motor baots, Ribs OR Hard boats,

They are are very efficent, and have exelent power/ weight ratio, Mercruser are have been working on a prototype in Germany for about 3 years now, and the indications are that they will be fitting them to production boats in the next 5yrs........

The new 10 metre Scorpion

Heard a rumour this morning that the new 10 metre Scorpion with a pair ot 420 (?) hp Yanmars on Pulsedrive isn't performing too well. It seems it is not only down on predicted speed, ie slower than the 10 m cabin boat with 2x 300hp, but that the pulsedrive is proving to be pretty crappy. It seems the rudder fell off whilst underway, and it's having bearing failures.

Now this is only a rumour, and I have been wrong before!

i THINK THEY WERE SLIGHTLY WORRIED ABOUT HOW THE PULSEDRIVE WOULD PERFORM ANYWAY.

Hey, no need to shout. If they had spoken to Revenger they would have known that the pulsedrive is not very good.

Maybe they should have gone with a more conventional drive such as the B Max.

Pulse Drives

I believe that it was the customers preference to have the drives put on and not Scorpions. Boat builders do what customers want etc.
