Just some more updates from Brig. The boat is now built, and had its first sea trial yesterday, and they kindly sent me some pictures. On the first prop they have test, it topped out at 49knots at 5113 rpm. They have another couple to try??

Getting excited now

Ideally that engine should be propped to get around 5500-5600 rpm at WOT. Ask if they have a 21" Mercury Rev4 to try

A very nice looking RIB Oli. Superb colour choice.
I have just spoken with Leon at Wolf Rock and he has said that my Brig is on the next truck leaving on Tuesday. Should be with them the following week. The engine arrives in two weeks. Exciting times.

What boat/engine combo have you gone for?

We went for the Eagle 780 with a Suzuki 300hp.
The service workshop we use in Poole is a Suzuki & Mercury dealership so it was an engine choice between them two manufactures for us.

Hi Oli, we went with light grey gel coat with black fabric impression hypalon tubes. Black sunbrella upholstery. Not as exciting as your colour scheme, your new RIB looks very nice.

Oli, did they run the engine in first, the top end revs seem high for first run out. dont want to ruin your enthusiasm for new boat but we added a new engine recently as did Chris Moody and Honda and Yam have both rev issues for first ten hrs

No break-in/run-in period on the Evinrude's, use them as you wish from brand new

I wouldn't go pinning the throttle open straight out of the crate!

Most manufacturers allow for prop test usually not more than 30 secs at wot as it is part of a pdi as warranty is void if prop is not right.

See here for the details on Etec;

They are a cracking engine, in my humble opinion.

Probally the wrong words to use but they look good and go well. I was just saying that anything new like that should have a bit of mechanical sympathy when used for the first time!!
