But your website and your postings here imply that you are building these fantastic CE approved, innovatively designed cut and shut RIBs to sell? So not purely for your own "pursonal" use then. I think you ought to quit whilst you're ahead and still have any potential customers here on rib.net.

Mind you as a qualified cynic I reckon this is all a put up job by JK and JF (who I reckon are in cahoots anyway) to boost website traffic!

they are fantastic ribs i have done a good jod on designing it,

you miss the piont of boat building. you need to build a plug first then make a mould, you can make the units from the mould. my ribs are not cut and shut. my plug was.

Are you saying that a garage that cut & shut's 2 car's together can take the credit for designing them? You must be on drugs.

Leeway.

You really do talk a lot of rubbish!

Other than maybe another splash of a phantom 18, the chances of anything from another model of boat being close enough in detail to perform a 'cut n shut' procedure, is nill!!

absolute twoddle!

How about posting a list of all these lucky RIBnet members who've signed up for one of your innovative splashes!

Re: 'rina' post.

No Alan, I don't think it De-values it at all, it has excellent 'Comedy value', sadly for the mysterious rina, that's all it has.

rina, Your attack on Adam is un called for and pathetic and I rather think that having such a cheap and anonymous dig at him shows that you're mearly using this forum/thread as a vehicle for some hidden agenda.

as I said, pathetic and cowardly, well done!

Im act with JF this time...this thread is gettin rediculous...

We already acertained that hes taken a few other peoples designs and mixed and matched and then modified it slightly or considerably depending on whos story you listen to.

Now people are trying to find out exactly what hes done to each part and just because he doesnt want 2 divulge this info which is very common in the business world everybody is having a go at him!?

Everybody seems to just want to find something new to complain about?!

I don't think we've acertained that at all! that's just HIS watered down version of "I've splashed an 18 Phantom running surface, and put a flange on it" which is far more realistic, and what I believe to be true.

Why on earth should we believe the 'i've taken many ideas and mixed them in with my own' line? utter poppycock!!

still, thread should be closed, it's getting nowhere.

Not quite...and I can only talk for myself here... what I am "pissed" about is having my intelligence insulted... there's only one person who's allowed to do that and I married her......

Leeway

You seem to indicate that due to this thread you are inundated with new orders.

I find it strange to believe that anyone would order a RIB when the inference to this thread is that you're ripping off some other persons design, unless of course they want a RIB with a Phantom hull .

I'm aware of the saying "there is no such thing as bad publicity", but this thread is taking it a bit far.

Regards

Mark

Very interesting Mr Rina - whoever you are - and not willing to use your name.

Unfortunately also complete rubbish and I should imagine a hidden agenda. If you have a problem with anything I have done why don't you contact me directly? Probably because you are merely stirring and have nothing to back up anything you said.

I will stand by all that my office produces and believe we are one of the few offices creating original and different work.

I could go into an analysis of your statements - but will not do so for anyone making false comments under a false name.

Adam

I do find your particular approach and that of your fellow contributors here extremely hypocritical to say the least.

Adam you do take a very high and mighty approach to the subject of design and in particular design infringement. Look at your current "race" Rhib design for example. Are you really trying to suggest that you where the first to use “steps” in the hull? Or the remarkable similarities to Revenger? - which you have had an involvement with - to name but two so called innovative design features. You have copied many established principles which where first designed and created by others. All you have done is basically copied someone else’s ideas, modified them slightly under the guise of your design concepts and called it your own.

In industry as a whole, intellectual copyright is a very grey area and hard to enforce. Our industry is no exception and perhaps worse. There have been one or two court cases concerning design/pattern/ copyright infringement some won some lost. Litigation costs and thus usually not pursued.

Producing a direct copy with a view to modifying it, and taking someone else’s ideas to copy and modify is splitting hairs.

I fully expect you; your navigator Matt (madmatt) and the other know has-beens , Jon (Fuller) & Tony (Dirk) to lambaste and ridicule this email to justify your position and for their own usual amusement as my colleague informs me. He also pointed out that the proprietor of this WEB site began this “discussion” and without doubt was in collusion from the start.

I am also informed and believe true, that the young chap they and you chose to ridiculing here build your rib also. A very unusual business stance to take I feel!

I am indeed saddened to see you dragged down to their level as you have had an excellent reputation in out industry prior to this.

But remember.

People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

On a finishing note, I bet you have not paid any royalties to the innovators you have chosen to copy and modify

I will be forwarding a more detailed copy of this letter to our trade bodies and journals
