After 25 years service i have decided to change my avon 5.4 searider for something a bit more modern. I was looking at an avon adventurer 580 however, i am told that avon are not making them any more !! I have been offerd a zodiac pro 655. Anyone got one of these ?? what are the like. Any advice on what is good on the market? I want to use my existing merc 90 4 stroke on whatever i buy. Any advice would be welcome

Zodiac don't make a Pro 655. The make an Pro Open 550 and Open 650. The 90hp 4-stroke will be okay on the 550, but you'll be under-powered on the 650. Think the Pro Open 650 takes an extra-long shaft.

The Pro Open 550 takes engines 60-120hp (max 195kg), and the Pro Open 650 115-175hp (max 225kg).

The new ones are available in hypalon. If you're looking at something second-hand, then more than likely it's Strongan Duotex (PVC).
