New product - CT1 sealant and adhesive

Came across a new product the other day in an independant hardware store. CT1 'unique sealant and constructive adhesive'.

They had a concrete bloack with a handle stuck on with this stuff and yes it seemed very strong while also being still mallable. works underwater also and comes in white, black, grey, brown and clear colour. Will apparently stick about everything to everything excluding polypropylene. Anti-fungal and fine for marine use.

I used it to help seal a hole with a bolt and copper washer with regard to an oil leak on an engine and it seems to have worked extremely well.

So if your looking for a flexible sealant with adhesive properties then this might be worth a try.

got it from Vidal UK ltd on Ferndown industrial estate.

'Twas also mentioned on here just a couple of days ago in another thread. Bigplumbs I think. A user and advocate. I'm sure he'll be along shortly to confirm and share his experience of it. I'd certainly give it a go based on the write ups and youtube video of it I've seen.

Agree - great stuff. I have successfully used it amongst other things to repair hypalon inner tubes. Fairly quick drying, easily spread or shaped and no 2 part mixing. Surprisingly it is easily cleaned off surfaces and hands.

I haven't used Tigerseal but have used Sikaflex and will probably use CT1 instead of Sikaflex in the future. It just seems to work in all situations with little preparation. I usually clean the surfaces with MEKP ( I think) first. A joiner friend originally recommended it to me.

I like it too. Find it difficult to smooth with a wet finger like other sealants. I don’t think it cleans off easily at all. Very good at sticking stuff, about 6 months into holding my bilge pump in place

I don't use a wet finger anymore since I found a proper tool from Screwfix
Product code 82791

Best £8.50 I ever spent!

P.S. There's also a £2.79 cheaper but inferior one that might get in tighter spaces

Buy the solvent spray from the same company and it wipes away with a cloth.

RIBase
When they fit windscreens in vans with sealant they run the bead of sealant spray over with a mix of washing up liquid and water, form the bead by tool/finger let it set and pull off the excess at the side of the bead.
