I have been fiddling with the new toy, it all seems very nicely made and the images are very clear and sharp. The wifi is going to be headache to set up, there are lots of You Tube videos about it. Problem now is that I have to upgrade my Mac OS before I can download the GoPro software to be able to upgrade the firmware on the camera and the 2 wi fi components. Nothing is easy!!
i have downloaded and printed off the instruction manuals, as my eyes aren't good enough to read the miniscule manuals that come with it. The wifi instructions are black pages with white writing, so have now run out of black ink....

The upside is that I plugged the camera in to see what had recorded and i-photo opened up and displayed everything without a hitch.

I've got a Contour GPS camera with the Wifi card, what they don't really tell you is that you cannot use the Wifi for viewing on say your iPad or iPhone when recording, only when on standby, is the GoPro the same?

The app hasn't been released yet, but my understanding is that it will display what you are filming in real time and you will be able to control the camera from your i pad et al.

OK, but be warned the 'Contour' WILL NOT relay the info when recording which I though was a bit pointless, so unless you want to stick it in the ladies toilets it a bit of a nonsense

No reason why it should be...it's plug and play as it's already set up. The remote and WiFi bacpac are pre-configured by GoPro as a pair, so just attach the bacpac to your camera and away you go

Know what you mean about the instruction manual However, the bacpac comes with a cd so you can load the manual to your computer as a pdf and view it there. Or, you can download it from the GoPro website/support

PS: Why would you not keep your Mac OS up to date?

I have got several Macs and in the past when I have updated software on one it has upset its relationship with the others (Jealousy I expect) and I then have problems getting them to work together. So whilst everything is working ok, I haven't bothered to change anything.
Got to go out and but a copy of Snow Leopard now so I can then upgrade to Lion. Why isn't it downloadable?? I have seen links that apparently get you a free copy, but I don't want anything dodgy, if it all goes tits up, I might need to talk to Apple for solutions and don't want anything dodgy on there.
