The Etec injector is a moving voice coil type. It works similarly to a loudspeaker. Electrical pulses are produced by the EMM & passed to a wire wound coil in the injector, the coil creates a magnetic field which operates a piston in the injector, this opens & closes in time to the pulses & injects fuel into the cylinder. The piston is cooled & lubricated by fuel fed into the injector body by the HP fuel pump in the vapour separator. The problem arises due to the fuel not lubricating the piston adequately, this then overheats & the voice coil goes open circuit, it's only very fine copper wire.
A dash of oil in the mix, helps lube the piston.

Ok cheers fella .. so having a large loudspeaker next to your etec could also affect performance or even a mobile phone
