Some cheering news for all you Destroyer owners:

I was tearing about the usual cruising grounds yesterday at dusk and spotted an old Destroyer moored off a small local quay. While having a quick nosey, I was almost shocked to recognise her as a RIB that I dived off in the early 1990's, re-engined but with no other changes since (she still has her Sunfish Subaqua stickers on). Her tubes were tatty beyond belief, but she's still doing a day's work. Sorry no pics but almost dark. I reckon she must be 16-17 years old on the original tubes - good kit!

The dive club I was in mid nineties still have their 5.8 Destroyer going strong now and it was a few years old then.
New engine a few years ago but boat unchanged apart from new electronics.

I'm hoping she should be good for a fair few years, especially as she is kept off the water, with a cover and in a barn! Saying that my old orkney didn't look too bad on its 18th birthday! I still miss having more storage space than I could ever fill and lots of flat bits to rest the beers on! I do miss her alot apart from the hours of polishing, antifoul and y10 every year.......every time I open up the e-tec the loss of storage pales into insignificance!!
