Net Warnings

Given that it is that time of year and unmarked nets seem to appear out of nowhere would it be an idea to keep a log of warnings? Considering the speed we travel at hitting the dreaded unmarked can have expensive consequences.

Kilcummin Co Mayo

North East of Harbour entrance are a number of bouys marking some fishing gear anchored to the bottom in approx 8 m of water. There are also a number of bales of rope floating on the surface unattatched to any of the bouys. Very difficult to spot if traveling into midday sun.

Excellent idea Ezgoing!

Even more difficult to keep track of but possibly more of a hazard are the flotsam & jetsam of the Solent..old doors, logs, (Pete 7's socks...)

Seems to be a lot of extra lobster pots around this area.

I was very tempted but felt I was only making the problem worse. At least now they are in a fixed position.
