Yeah sorry, didnt mean to laugh its just that when you deal with hydraulic fitting/hose suppliers as much as i do you soon realise that "pirate-tek" and "cheap" are two words you dont normally read in the same sentence...

I just spent £400 modifying my hoses to fit a new autopilot!

But it did involve some hard lines, ball valves etc as well as swaged couplings, all in stainless

Sometimes they come to us, other times we go to the local depot.....irrespective, if i go back through all my invoices year for year over the last 6-7 years i would estimate that we've probably saved at least 15% by going to other suppliers like Hyphose. As i mentioned previously, with the amount of expenditure we incur on hydraulics, this represents a significant saving.

For a start, we usually get a significant trade discount on hoses and fittings supplied from Hyphose....something that Pirtek were reluctant to do, probably because Pirtek only operate on a franchise basis limiting the freedom and control franchisee's have over pricing.

I make all my own ... I have a Gates crimp machine and only really have to use the mobile boys if I'm stuck. In preference I use a local lad .. rather than the national outfits .. but he only gets out of his bed when he gets a call,.. so he's not exactly on the go .. .....are you Colin ? ya lazy twat
