Thanks again Ian.
I've had a look at that on ebay before. Wonder if the wife likes diving? lol

I think I may go and have a look at the second one on B&O.

I think GraemeCooper may have gone and looked at that one but rejected it because he wanted a smaller boat.Might be worth PMing him.

The last one you linked to is a 5.4 with a 75hp... Good boat and price too!

I wouldn't entertain 25hp on one. They are an animal with 40 or 50, but I suspect wouldn't handle rough weather too well with 25hp as it'd take a long time to empty the flooding hull.
Sorry mate, missed your post.

I thought 25hp wouldn't pull the wife out of bed. Saying that though, I roll over twice and I'm still on top.... Only joking love incase you read this

Cheers mate.

Yep thats it. JSP, PM if you're interested. Not after anywhere near £3500 either.

Seariders are a very good choice, you can pick them up pretty cheaply, and they're much better quality than those flatacrafts and narwhals you see for a similar price. Although not the best looking boats they're awesome fun, and I will be getting another after uni, or when I have more cash.

You could always weigh in the console and put the proceeds towards a nice GRP replacement.
That's not a bad looking SR4 and a tidy oil injected Mariner 40 too

Not a bad idea and would still be a cheap RIB

Samt you have a PM mate.

And thanks for the suggestions folks. I still like the look of that 5.5 with the 70HP though.

Another question for you all. What should I expect for fuel costs on a 40, 50 or 75hp?
I was going to ask about insurance cover but I expect a search of the forums would be best.

Cheers.

SR4 with a 50 would give you a good day out on 8-10 gallons.

Trying to work that out into litres. Is about 4.5 litres per gallon isn't it? Wish I'd took notice of the teacher in stead of girls when I was at school!

Wanted to come back to the thread as today I went out for the first time. Jesus no one told me they where so much fun!! That has to be the best and most involving boating I have ever done. You have to give allot more attention to jockey this size rather than boats of around 12m, and that makes it so much more! I'm hooked! As someone said in this thread,

And fecking right he was.

Launching over the side of the slip at Knott end (Thanks to Dave at Wavelength for this) on my own was stressing me out until I tried it, went with out a problem. Had a play in the river to see what these Rib's are like and had a grin from ear to ear so decided to venture out. There was no wind but the sea seemed to have not noticed and the swells came very big a few times. First one I hit ended up making the inside of my drysuit smell of last nights takeaway and the realization that I was in a 4m open boat suddenly seemed like a bad idea. But then she showed me how she could cope so that thought went straight out of the window These craft are great!!
I need to adjust the stiffness of the throttle lever though as it's a liitle loose. I hit a small wave which made me put my weigh on the throttle sending me full belt up a huge following swell. All I heard was the engine rev like mad as it left the water. The landing was interesting and it's a good job I don't want anymore kids

Can ya tell I liked it. 4m seariders love it!!! Big thanks everyone
