nearly 4 dead powerboaters!

Well the end of last week was a bit of a grueller. Course for a certain security outfit (if we told you what we did we'd have to shoot ya!- dont bother I know already cos I got your last lot drunk in the pub!!).
Thursday we took a terrified powerboater off his boat-first trip out no experience been aground for hours then the wind got up etc etc. Day 2 looked round to see maniac in old overloaded speedboat give it loadsa wellie with excessive up trim from standstill. Shot straight upwards and then sank back down vertically as water flooded in over the back. 4 people in the water, no lifejackets, 2 non swimmers, T shirts and jeans on and so cold so quickly . Loadsa screaming etc, etc. If we hadnt just happened to be passing thru the area at that time they were gonners. Someone may have said thank you-but I cant say I actually remember it

I've generally been tolerant of your posts, even when they have derided others and the grammar's been bad, but you've really overstepped the mark here with your utterly regionalist, unthinking and hurtful gibe about people from Birmingham.

I've lived and worked in Brum and the people are absolutely brilliant - lots of them drive lorries for God's sake! Admittedly they used to make Rovers at Longbridge, but that's stopped now so surely you can't hold that against them.

Yes - they do like small boats with BIG engines and live a long way from the water and speak funny and get called the Birmingham Navy when they come down here and try to motor off while still attached to the pontoon. However please realise that they bring and spend huge amounts of money on local goods like beer and pizza and are, at least, amusing to watch.

I think you'll find the people Wavey's talking about were from Liverpool.

Well done Wave, it was probably the shear embarassment that they were suffering that prevented a 'Thank You'. Crap never the less. The 'Birmingham Navy' pop up all over the place, even down here. So often with 'small ads' speedboats . A couple of seasons ago, a guy killed his kid when his pile of junk trailer let go at the top of the slip.

I gave the guy who'd been aground a card cos he was a nice sorta chap

And threatened the coastguard lad who came down after the friday event tht if he gave that lot my details for courses I'd chuck him in

We only have nice folk on courses here, including that exceptionally nice Mr O. Viper

Coastguard have been on the phone this morning after more details as member of the public has reported this lot to them for going out with a boat already sinking and no lifejackets etc and generally endangering life and then the subsequent resue which they had observed from the shore.

I would hope they do something about it, i have to say i think its a little stupid not have some basic safety gear...its not that expensive

there's nowt wrong with scousers - I have some coming for level 2 this weekend and looking forward to it-its bound to be a laugh a minute from start to finish -

now where did I put that padlock and chain ?
