Maybe its the fisheries protection boats but I'm sure the UK had some vessels with a flooding well in the stern for easy launch and recovery of a Rib?

No the UK don't have anything with a flooding well (other than the large amphibious ships Fearless, Intrepid, then Albion and Bulwark, with the RFA having the Bay class of ships too). But these all flood for larger boats such as landing craft, etc. All RIBs in the RN are launched from cradles/davits/cranes (unless as part of a larger flotilla going from the back of one of the above ships).

I think the Dutch or one of the Scandinavian navies may have these though.

The Albion class (and the Fearless class they replaced) have floodable stern docks, but they're designed for large landing craft.

Ah... I see I was beaten to it

The fisheries & border patrol vessels have a rear launch/recovery system. The one in the video looked a tad dodgy to me, they could have done with swinging out the davit clear of the mothership.

Ah yeah, the civilian fishery protection vessels may have the docks or rear launch/recovery systems - I forgot those!

The Border Force ship that I sometimes see in Cowes has this arrangement at the stern which I think is really neat...

That launch looked a complete shambles tbh.

It took them that long to get lowered after starting the engine they were lucky the impeller was still in one piece and able to pump when they hit the water!

Irish customs have a really nice setup. Seen this first in Galway wet dock the time of the volvo ocean race. I kind of assumed this was the norm for customs, fisheries and defence, or any other fast response vessels. But obviously not. We have 3 of these ships all set up very similarly. The mother ship appeared to be of aluminium construction. Name 'suirbheir'

Are you using the App or the website (and if so which phone or browser respectively)?

Re comments about the impeller on the OP video - if you look closely you will see and hear that the engine is supplied with water through a hose at the rear until the final lowering manoeuvre

They were running on flush muffs for most of that time, though it it did take a while even after the muffs had been removed.

Perhaps it was someone in training.

Agreed. Of he many entertaining moments I was particularly impressed by leaving the side of the ship by going forwards.

I wonder how many times these guys have been introduced to the Stinger.
