looks awesome, really nice!! one thing, it looks like the backrest needs to be closer for you as your really stretching for full throttle,
love the decking, hope we will meet sometime out on the solent!!

It was set up that way to have my daughter (3 years old) to sit between me and the wheel, and my wife and son (6year old) to have a seat of their own. It really works well.

That's where my 3 year old sits, may banish him to the rear though since he's sussed out how to use the throttle!

Really well, I did have a Ribtec 535 with a poor seating arrangement and a 60 hp Yamaha. I l loved the boat but the family found it uncomfortable, even with the 60 it went well, but this one with a 75 is excellent in everyway, plenty of power and speed.

The boys at Solent Ribs did a great job, the whole thing is just great!!!!!!

Most girls at 3 are not interested in throttles, but having said that, the only weakness with the whole rig so far is when my 6 year old son goes forward and catches his life jacket on the throttle, powering us off right when nobody is ready. Now I insist he goes forward to port (the throttle is on the starboard side)

the solent hulls are good (understandably so), apparently the 585 performs very well with lower hp motors.

Don't you have a neutral lock?

As you say, you just need to teach him that no-one moves forward in the boat on the throttle side of the console

If it's the standard BRP side mount, it does. Maybe he means when the boat is already in gear...

My top mount doesn't. Neutral lock appears to less common these days, I'm not sure of the rationale behind not having it?

Apparently, the top mount controls were originally intended for use in cabin boats where people are less likely to fall against the controls (with potentially disastrous consequences). That still doesn't excuse the manufacturers from not offering a neutral lock as an option on their (very expensive) control boxes, when used on ribs, for example.
