My new Searider 4.7 project

Just got it back today,and of course got the jet washer out straight away, really pleased with the condition etc

I will just post pics as and when i take them but here are some that i did today!

As you can see in the last pic old Seariders do fly!!

Reputedly, as a package cost the Mod for the boat and engine £33700.00
The tubes, I havent come across these before but i knew they existed .
picture 4 has the 2 layers of Hypolon peeled back to reveal the 4 inch thick very dense foam collar, keep digging and you will find a inflatable collar as picture 2 shows it partially inflated so far i have unlaced it and found 2 leafield valves.
Picture 3 shows a water drain plug which when removed was dry thankfully.

peter. in a quandry at the mo, suggestions are
transom weight 145 approx
Merc 60 four stroke 109 kgs economical but may lack in beans.
yam 70 two stoke, 105.5 kgs not so econ
Yam 75 two stroke 120.5 kgs same as above but powerfull enough

Has to be a 2006 or newer engine.

any more suggestions?

New Suz 90 is supposed to be 155kgs and nice motors to boot ...........

the info that was given to me was that there was a merc 2 stroke fitted in the land of song.
Twatsoo is good at 115kgs and heard nothing but praise for these engines,i will have a look around
if it is rated at 70 and i put a 75 on at 120.5, is this really going to make the difference?

i've been thinking about that one as well. Would like to upgrade my 98' two stroke 65HP to this new lightweight 90 HP... i'm only short 10Keuro ;-(

There is a thread from last year where this has been discussed. Obviously it's a bit big for a SR4,7, but anyway i think it would look nice. I wouldn't hesitate but it requieres a bit of discpline when sailing it. I believe the boat would not break apart, but just be somewhat overpowered. I guess it depends on what you use it for. If you need max speed it could be too much with 90 HP. I need it for carrying diving equipment (or waterskiing), which means just to get it out of the water.

It would probably be fine until you run over something/someone.
A pal of mine had one with a Yam 90 (same lump as the 75) and it was well-balanced, if a little 'exciting' at full pelt.

matt h where do you find such rare peices like this!! - its the most full on geared up 4.7 I've ever seen, think yu should call it "nails" or "hardcore"

it was on ramco website, has been on there for a couple of months!! just spoken to Avon,first thing he said was "what you doing with this boat"? anyway the official reason for making the tubes like this is that when boarding fishing vessels may tubes were slashed to stop these boarding operations from going ahead..

also the transom weight is 130kgs for the milpro searider. have found a 75 two stroke for 2 k in scotland, nasty smelly 2 strokes
anyway, the engine that it was fitted with is the mercury 60 2 stroke bigfoot,
im going to have a play on a 60 f/s today, try and suss out the performance etc

it would be superb but ive had 3 of them now and just wanted a change, i did find a 75 hp yam, 2002, (bit old) for 2 k, no remotes
i also found a new evin 60 in blue, all the stuff for 4500 alll in, and that was based in cornwall near penryn.

went to southsea today to have a look at a merc 60 f/s,

the ad which has now been removed said,

chap didnt give a monkies, so i promised him his ad would be gone by 5pm.
anyway ive located one after i got told by multiple dealers (if you find one ring us first as they are rare as rocking horse sh-t).how boring!!
