Find a bottle floating past, piece of paper inside says "Take your navigation course, wish I had!"

for those that dont know ,regarding floatsom /jetsom if you find anything with a rope and some sort of float or bouy even a piece of wood as a float attached its classed as LIGAN and and has to be returned to the owner or left alone , wonder then if you get it around your prop could you could make a claim for damages done ,,,,and if that goes for all the crab lobster pot markers,,,,around the coast too .

I can only join the 'lost at sea' element of this thread - the other side!

I have lost a rather beautiful gold watch when I fell out of my boat recently, so if you ever find one, or know someone that has- let me know!

look on the good side it will bring you better luck for the future ,old viking ritual of giving something of value back to the sea ,gold or silver to keep the sea gods happy ,,,,,i would still be pissed off though ,,,it was bad enough when i lost a decent knife when we were gutting fish and see who could gut the fastest ,went that fast i finished up keeping the guts and throwing me knife ,,,

Yes, I suppose you're right.

I'm not sure what the Gods will do with it - it would buy a decent RIB for them!

It is insured and the insurance company are ready to transfer the cash when I want....

A couple of kind souls on here have offered to dive for it and it's just a question of finding the right time. Because of the position it needs to be in slack tide, so opportunities are moderately limited.

The watch is now on the missing art register (it really is quite valuable/silly money) so if it's found it will surface, so to speak, eventually.

To be honest I'd rather have it back than have the cash - it's a special object for all sorts of reasons....
