Great advice, "remove your engine". Oh I'll
Lift it off and row it ashore in my dinghy shall I?!

Doh! Can't even do that as the Dinghy we bought last season was stolen within 10 days from being put on the beach.

Does any one on the forum have any experience with using or recommending a tracking type device?
there appears to be products that supposedly alert you via GPS & mobile phone if its moved out of a pre designated area.
thanks

Google red knows mini finder. You can even create a geo fence with radius settings for use with a swinging mooring.

try a company called safetrac, we use them at work and they are very helpful, they have a lot of products which might fit the bill.

Just got a Garmin GTU 10. Check them out!!! Tiny, operated from iPhone or on line, no sim needed. Can last 4 wks on battery or permanently on direct feed. Size of a matchbox. Up to 10 Geofence areas. Awesome piece of kit. Can be put in rucksacks, on pets..... Or boats!

Very well known brand. It's years ahead of the others in tech set up and support.

RIBase
Take a look at - http://www.rib.net/forum/f37/garmin-gtu-10-a-46535.html

I got myself the Garmin and its good! I dont have one in the engine though, but I have mounted it and connected it to the boat battery.

Always good to know where the boat is at a click.
