Mooring Question

If u have a berth at a marina do u have rights over a particular berth or are you just paying to berth your boat in that marina anywhere at their discretion?So if someone is on your berth when you return do you have grounds to complain?

Surely you can complain? Your berth may have your fenders and lines on it, and marina berths are all different sizes too so if you had a gin palace and came back to find a 4m RIB in your berth you wouldn't be able to fit into the one he came out of. Though I suppose you could use him as a fender which might dissuade him from doing it again

several times I have used someone elses mooring buoy have a laminated card which gives my apolgies and mobile number. Asks if I am in the way would they mind moving me to another buoy. Also offer to pay for it. Have never had a problem yet
