Mixtow pontoon charges

Just been looking at Fowey Harbour Commision's site-anyone got any idea why their advertised charges for Mixtow Pontoon are half what Penmarlam are listing on their site? Are there 2 different pontoons?

Hi Nos4r2
Not sure if there are two different pontoons. Best to PM Ian Parkes as he knows the area well.

Read your profile...you wouldn't happen to be pulling out of Penzance Drive would you?

The Penmarlam charges appear the same as the FHC charges on page 9 of the PDF. These include parking, launching, etc. I think the FHC charges on page 1 is for the use of the pontoon only, excluding parking, etc. May be worth ringing FHC to see what they say.

I didn't notice that-cheers Dai. It might well be worth me launching elsewhere and chucking the trailer on a roofrack then if I'm going to leave the boat in the water for the time we're there.

The problem with that option is the land access to the Mixtow pontoon is only via a private road through a boatyard with a token/coin operated barrier. You can walk through the boatyard and down to the pontoon, but it's a bit of a hike, and too far if you're carrying fuel, etc.

Are you staying at Penmarlam campsite?

Yeah. Maybe it'll be simpler to just pay up
