Mitigation foam

Hi,

Does anybody have any experience of 'The Mitigator' Mitigation foam ? I was thinking about getting my jockeys fitted with it if it's any good.

This is a interesting subject. My knee is not in good nick so i take the hits by the spine instead.... Surprisingly haven't(yet) had any back issues despite sometimes it feels like the jockey seat would be mad of solid wood. Would be nice if someone would have experience of mitigation foam on the seats, as not ready for the Ullman yet...

We were looking into exactly that with a UK seat manufacturer but they let us down badly - we may do something ourselves over the winter.

We use the foam in the work boats and it does make a difference after a day on the water. I'm not sure users would notice it for general leisure use I.e. I haven't been motivated to put it on my rib.

I have a sample of the foam used in ejector seat manufacturing somewhere. I will see if I can find their details. It ressembles the Oasis stuff you put flowers into.

I've spent hundreds of hours driving boats with this in the seats. It makes a serious difference if you're out there every day. Trailer bloke on here is a uk distributor for it - might be worth dropping him a pm.

Hi there ,
I got my helm pads for my SR5.4 from :
Soft Deck — Product Collection
They fit very well between the console and the outer edge of the hull .
So far I made only one long distance trip with them in moderate swell but was pleased .
Ross Champion from soft deck was very helpful !

Not recommended if your skipper is suffering with piles

Here the recommendation from soft deck :

"I would recommend using the fasteners ( = Klettverschluss ) with the white backing on them and installing with either a marine grade adhesive, or epoxy. We have had very good luck using Sikaflex 292i, and it is easier than using a two part epoxy. But epoxy bond will be the strongest"

High Quality foam to use in seat of rib

I am as you know in the process of re building my rib. It looks like I will not be able to afford a suspension seat unit. I have one substantially designed. Is there a high quality foam that can be used for the cushions of ribs or a combination of foams. I know that it needs to be closed cell but not much more. Any help on this matter would be appreached

Just to update you all, I've had my seat recovered and installed with a lot better foam than what was previously fitted, "not mitigation foam" far to expensive I now sit a lot higher up and the foam does not compress all the way down to the board after more than 5 minutes and feels very firm. A few pics of before and after. I'm well happy with the price as well £55.00
