I've had two ribs with black hulls, decks and fittings with no variation in colour. I've had a completely black boat too. It has an advantage in colder climes because it absorbs sun heat so the boat is noticeably warm. Also, and opposite to what might be imagined, black is not too difficult to see as sea, grey is less good.

Decision made

White GRP, black upholstery, black non slip deck and military grey for the tubes with black D strake and wear patches. Wasn't sure and then I saw a photo of a Redbay 650 with that combination and thought "that's the one".

Ta for all the input

September is sooo far away...

Black deck may get a bit warm if you're barefoot?
Does the sun shine down there at all?

Black can get very warm (sun here is very strong - no pollution!) but if my feet get too hot all I need is a quick oomph in reverse to wash some of our balmy Atlantic waters across my wellies and problem will be sorted

It's a good point but barefoot is rare/never so shouldn't be a problem

Found this thread while looking for something else.... to finish the thread off, this is military grey which was the final colour choice for the toobs, with black wear patches on top and protecting the cone ends

I started out thinking grey was a bit of a boring colour choice (the old rib was orange) but in the end I think the grey/white/black combination looks crisp and clean, with a bit of a pro/military look, as well as being quite practical (apparently has the best fade resistance). Ticked all the boxes for me anyway can't wait to see it in the flesh
