Med shaft on searider 4m

I'm looking at a bargain engine but its medium shaft. Its going on a searider 4, which has a piece allready cut out the transom. Can anyone tell me is this cut is enough for it to be ok, I dont want to have to lower it anymore. Also, would you use a med shaft on one? Also to open up an old thread, it has manual trim, the bloke also said to me "dont worry about trimming as you go along as the boat will be set to optimal and you wont need to worry" should I worry? it has gas assit tilt and it an x-rnli. Its a grand cheaper than it would be if it were long shaft.

Thanks folks.
