Has anyone ever seen her running? Or seen her lately? I’d love to cop a glance but nothing is ever posted about her anymore.

Saw it out of the water in Weymouth a few years back, very odd looking but good at what it does.

Didn’t one of the powerboat racers join them on their record trips?

Mary Slim

I've not been down this year to see if she's still about but she spends a lot of time at Portland

if i was being cynical it would sound something like "Dean and Reddyhoff were looking for publicity for the marina business and this interesting craft just happened to be build for the owner of said company which has now been refinanced and therefore doesn't crave the same attention"

Would actually love to see it running and the hull design has a lot of merit on a boat that size.

If i recall, RYA commissioned some small ribs for sailing support taking some of the concepts demonstrated in Mary Slim.

Their are striking similarities with Mary Slim and Ady Gill which was also Earthrace before that. i suspect a certain well know rib record holder could add a bit more to this as well.

The military used a few of these vessels but they seem to have fallen out of favour. I think they were 'invented' by Adrian Thompson who was also responsible for Team Philips.

IIRC they were originally designed for a chap from the Isle of Man for his commute across the Irish Sea

If you want to see it it's often parked down at Portland Marina. As stated above, was built for and owned by one of the owners of Dean and Reddyhoffe. His wife is called Mary, hence many of the vessels owned by the company follow that theme: Mary Slim, Mary Mouse etc

The Boat is owned by Richard Reddyhoff who was the other half of Dean and Reddyhoff. I have known Richard for many years and in this case he put his money where his thoughts lay.
His idea was to create a perfect long distance, go anywhere boat for when he and his wife retired. Jan Falkowski was part of the World Record run they did a couple of years ago. Like all Wave Piercing boats and by reports it can be a bit of a wet ride and by all accounts very smooth in tough conditions.
Hope this answers everyone's questions. Alan Priddy

With the picture. I’m mildly obsessed with sharp bow boat designs.

I'm trying to picture myself trying to get to the bow to drop the anchor.... But I'm having trouble figuring out how.

There was an even earlier one in the early 1990s sponsored by Fujifilm in their white and green colour logos. First saw it in the IOM about August 1992.
