marine windshields

i need to find a marine windshield manufacturer locally in the south so if anyone has any recommendations that would be good.
I am hoping get one made by a friend "up north lad" for the vipermax but a friend needs a new windshield for his old hard boat thing so would be good to find one locally for him.

had a search on here but did not come up with anything conclusive and recent enough

can anyone advise the best material to use
the thickness that has worked best
typically what folks may have paid for their windshield

anyone south ish that you can recommend would be good, a pm is fine

Most are made from perspex or tinted acrylic. Many local plastic companies can supply the stuff - also cut it to shape. You then need to heat in and bend to shape. Not difficult if you are good at that sort of thing!!!

Hello Mate

My windshield is a piece of 4mm tinted Polycarbonate I begged from a signmaker.

I made a cardboard template, cut it to shape, finished the edges with a fine file and emery paper, then bent it around the corners of my console by pouring boiling water on it.

Sorted, for the price of a beer.

Nasher.
