Marine Lights Website - comments and suggestions welcome.

In less days than I care to think of - I have to take yet another RYA exam. Despite being a lowly PB2 instructor, I put my hands up and say that I cannot for the life of me remember all the lights that you might encounter.

I started making the light combinations on my PC and then realised that I could actually set up a web site with these images - and that might help other poor devils like me.

I've made a start today. My guess is that about 50% of it is now done. Its presently sitting on a sub-domain until I decide what to do with it.

I'm no website designer as you can see if you go take a peep - but I would nevertheless appreciate comments from forum-members that may help anyone else whose memory is as bad as mine!

I've only done a couple of "quiz" items as I'm not sure yet how I am going to do that section.

Excellent idea! I don't know nearly enough stuff like this off the top of my head.

I did notice the tricolour is missing from the sailing page? Or am I being dim?

<edit> Yes I'm being dim-combined light=tricolour. For some reason I had it in my head that the white shone towards the bow. D'oh.

No - its me getting the images and the text muddled! Thanks - will sort it out tomorrow.

Nice and simple just the way it should be - no stupid frames or Flash and it even works in Firefox!!!

Codprawn's right about clarity. It's almost worth copying the pics into a small reference flipchart as they are so nice and clear.

Vessels under 20m side lights should be ahead of mast head.

I have now revised it a bit more - although its not finished yet.
