Maiden voyage !!

Hi guys, we're new to this and are taking our humber 6.0m out on the water for the first time tomorrow, have some experience having been out on friends rib and completing the various RYA courses. As its just the two of us tomorrow we r going to launch at a public jetty in the lakes just so we can master getting her in and out smoothly - will be frustrating not being able to get any speed up on the lake but will do us good gaining some confidence before a venture on the sea.

Any tips/hints for us newbys ??

If you are thinking of windermere , you have to launch at the ferry nab slip by the wardens office , and you have to pay to register , pay for numbers and £12.50 to launch and park.
when I first went there for the day it cost a total of £57.50 just to go on the lake.

p.s I have replied to your other post re Fleetwood.

Knott end at fleetwood has a good slip that you can launch from for most of the tidal range. It can be a little difficult if there is a strong on shore wind but it's still doable if you have at least two people prepared to get wet
