THE RACE WILL BE ON SATURDAY 2ND OCTOBER.ORGANISED BY BIBOA AND HOSTED BY THE ROYAL LYMINGTON YACHT CLUB.

OUR SPONSORS ARE P1 AND WE WILL BE RUNNING TWO RACES FOR THE P1 SUPERSTOCK
FINALS
ONE RACE IN THE MORNING FOR SUPERSTOCK ONLY,THEN THEY WILL JOIN THE RIB RACE IN THE AFTERNOON ALL TO BE FILMED.

LAST YEAR WE HAD 28 RIBS ON THE START LINE AND THE WINNING BOAT RELENTLESS
WITH DARREN HOOK DRIVING WON AT AN AVERAGE SPEED OF 70.64 MPH CARBON NEUTRAL DRIVEN BY JOHN CAULCUTT WAS ON HIS TRANSOM AND CAME SECOND WITH AN AVERAGE SPEED OF 70.46 MPH CLOSING WAS PETER LISTER WHO AVERAGED 68.86 MPH.

Bloomin brilliant it was, especially the heliflopper causing spray all over the shop.

HURST CASTLE IS THE BEST PLACE TO SPECTATE ON LAND

BOTH COURSES SKIRT HURST POINT THERE IS A 100 METRE
EXCLUSION ZONE OFF THE BEACH SO WE DONT UPSET THE FISHERMEN

Hopefully, thats what we are trying to achieve, in addition but needs further clarification by others so dont quote me just yet , please, a new class for ribs up to 150hp, i think max length of 6m ish, but needs to be confirmed subject to approvals, keep an eye out on the website......

if you and your rib are race fit and you wanted to sample the experience of a rib race in a relaxed and jolly atmosphere this is an event for you.

Click on latest news on website, " Anyone wishing to compete who does not hold a current full licence must have raced within the last two years in order to obtain an event licence. Those who have not done so must undergo race training on Friday 1st October at The Royal Lymington Yacht Club or beforehand with a recognised powerboat racing club. Training will commence 0900hrs prompt and finish 1400hrs approx. More details will be sent to competitors once an entry has been received "

Thanks for reply. I understand the concept of the training, sounds fun too. BUT the cost, and details are my only concern. Im aware of costs with Neils powerboat school, and although good value for expert advise, it would escalate the basic race costs, if comparable for a single day. Any further details greatly appreciated, is it included in entry fee's, if not how much?

Training for this event will be free for anyone that has entered, paid and is a member of BIBOA.
As it is the end of the season your membership will be valid for this year and 2011.
Payment can be made with Pay Pal at www.biboa.com

You will need to have your boat ready to race i.e. pass scrutinering on Friday morning.

If you do not have a race number we will provide one.
If you dont have an orange helmet we will provide orange material to cover it in but it must meet the specification as per the rules
Classes R3 and R4 can race with crewsaver soft type self inflating jackets

For those who need the Grabner type jackets we may be able to lend some out

Looking for a green light from she who must be obeyed.....

Will be going under the guise of a "lads n dads" day out. Get a gooding position from the top of the oldest part of Hurst castle. Maybe a few sherries and a draft of port n cheese...

Should be very, very civilised

I may come along as a spectator in my rib, any advice about best place to see the action while on the water and while keeping out of the way ?
