Looking for a ribcraft 4.8 test ride

Hi,

I have narrowed down my new hull decision to either a Ribcraft 4.8 or Menai 4.8 and, whilst both look good on paper and have good feedback from their owners im sure a test ride is the best way to decide. Yoyo has very kindly offered me a ride in his Menai this saturday in north wales (caernarfon). So im basicly looking for a equally generous Ribcraft 4.8 owner whos planning to take theirs out in north wales in the near future and wouldnt mind me hopping on board for a short while!

thanx Craig

P.S. has anyone got some performance figures for the Ribcraft (inc engine type.)

Ribcraft 4.8 with Mariner 60 4-stroke - max 36 knots.

Ribcraft 4.8 with Mariner 2-stroke - just under that.

I have never been in a Menai, but the RC4.8 is a fantastic boat.

Might be worth searching You Tube for the several video clips of RB4 (Round Brittain under 5m) organised by our favourite Rib Magazine a few years ago. Most of those boats were Ribcrafts.

Ribcraft 4.8 with Suzuki DF60 (4 stroke), best I've seen is about 32/33knots. (but the Suzi is quite a heavy engine...)

Thanks for the performance figures guys. Just took up a cracking offer on a new Mercury 60EFI 4-stroke (looks like its the lightest 4-stroke around at 114kg). Was looking for 30kts plus so that should do it.

Hi Yoyo, starting the console on Monday, but just finished waxing the seat plug last night ready for fibreglassing this morning.

I'm beginning to understand why people just buy these things!!!!!
