Lifting Strakes

I may be being a bit blonde here but hull design is not really my field, I kinda understand the point of lifting strakes to deflect the water and give stability but can anyone tell me why my boat (left RIBTEC) only has one and every other boat (right Ribeye 600) has two or three and what benefit there is to having more as I'm starting to feel a bit in adequate

Unless they've changed the design that doesn't look like a ribtec

Looks like a lorne campbell design with one shaved off....

Designers preference is the short answer. Usually the more there are , the faster and drier the boat is (within reason), but the different shape, angle and number is a mind blowing

For comparison this is a Ribtec 585 hull;-

Perhaps its a Ribeye hull instead?

Got a ribtec here. It ain't like that. Been under a few as I used to work for them. As ribtec and ribeye are more or less the same company and they mix mouldings between boats. It might be a ribeye. Where did you buy it. My thoughts are. What's in a name!
Did someone pass it off as a ribtec

It 100% Ribtec, have all the paperwork and it's the same as other 585s including those above and the one at BHG but very different shape from the 600 RibEye.

The only thing I'm not sure about is weather the hull is from the UK or South Africa, my engineer reckons it's UK but I'm not too bothered to be honest.
