No, I've never really put anything together. RIB International and some other magazines have done features on the voyage but I don't think they put the articles online - perhaps Hugo would if there was an interest.

We've been working lately on putting a video together, based on some new footage I retreived from Brazil, and I have a couple hundred pages toward a book - but I guess the bottom line is that I've just been either too lazy or too involved with other things to make any significant progress. If you like I can email a photo that shows the route and boat. Thanks for the interest.

Even though

We don't have to carry them, we are forced to. I tied up on the A frame.
In Greece you are not permited to go further than 4 miles (I think), from nearest shore without having one. Plus an auxiliary engine, 2 anchors, 2 round life jackets with 15 meters of line each, as many life jackets as the boat's license. VHF not included for "unlimited" mile coverage.

The Verdict

Thanks everyone for your comments.

After much debate, the judge, master, and boss (wife) has decided that like myself a replacement liferaft is not worth while in a RIB.

We have decide though to hire one for any solo passages which would take us out of range of fast lifeboat/helecopers rescue, which will be very seldom.

Thanks for you help have fun

Regards Gary
