lifejacket inspection

doesanybody know wha the qualification is and where you get one from to be certified o inspect lifejackets

For commercial purposess the MCA says you have to be certified to do the annual serving, and if it aint done then you are in violation of the code. But in this case our HIRA (Hazard Indication and Risk Assesment) says you do it before every campaign. Obviously additional personal inspection of safety equipment is important and encouraged but cannot relace a certificate.

Jon, yeah good point I know Charlie and the guys in the workshop well, unfortunately I've only been on shore for 12 days this year and I'm back offshore tomorrow so I was looking for places a bit closer to Aberdeen

I believe each manafacturer does training for its own kit. ie crewsaver will not certify you to service all lifejackets
