level 2 course coastal

Any recommendations as to where I should take my Level 2 Course? I'd like to do Coastal but living in Leeds,that means travel. Im happy to travel 2 or so hours from home and either coast is fine. New to all this so just wondering if some training centers are better than others.

If I had to choose between Humber Rescue and HOTA, I would have to recommend HOTA.
The reason being is that they are a professional training company and can run courses with more flexibility than H.R. - who are primarily a rescue service, and can find it difficult to fit courses in.

I was told their is a difference with the powerboat level 2 if it has a coastal element or not, as not all courses are held in coastal areas? Can anyone clarify

Yes, if you do the course on a lake for example you would get powerboat level 2, without the tidal endorsement. If however you do it on the coast, or on a tidal river then you get powerboat level 2 with the tidal endorsement.

The Rya at wat Tyler out of Croyton Essex is tidal but I don't think it gives coastal part, has any one done a course there?

I did Powerboat level 2 at;

Teeside Nautical Studies - Courses

based in Middlesbrough, next to the Transporter Bridge.
Trevor Forster's a great bloke to deal with and has loads of experience.

HOTA in Hull run RYA courses. Not very cheap though.
