As far as stuctural strength is concerned csm can be considered as a filler, with a 2" strand length load spread is minimal. with wovens or other long stand mats it is obviously much greater. Then you have to decide where and how you want to spread your loads, in which dirction and where you need to terminate them.

The picture is of my rib that I am building. I built it without a female mould.The only wood in it is the transom everything else is fibreglass.

How many lamination's over the ribs do you do .
Also is it a mixture of chopped strand matt and woven roven .

I bonded the ribs (bulkheads) and stringers with 2 layers of 450 csm one layer of 600 biaxial and a layer of 450 csm all 200mm wide and stagered the edges, so there was a gradual buildup of thickness of glass for the bonding.
