lake windermere

Has anyone any experience of boating on lake windermere?

Hi Zookeeper, try the link below for all the info you will need. Windermere has a 10 nautical mile speed limit dropping to 6 in some places so you wont be able to blat about. There are wardens everywhere, its like ditch crawling (river cruising) but with nice scenery. I go twice a year for a week at a time but I don't bother taking the boat with me anymore.

The best place to launch is at Ferry Nab where there is parking and trailer storage. Enjoy!

Hi bam bam , we went up to windermere last week ,1 rib and 2 ski boats and was sking all day up near ambleside, not just us there was about 8 other boats in all sking and never got bothered with the rangers ,thats the forth time this yr ,they are on about upping the speed limit again some time.
