Knowledge please !!

Obliged if anyone could pass on their opinions re following rib makes.......

1. Northcraft (approx 1998) [Have seen entries on Ribnet re tubes coming off....are there 2 Northcraft companies...one on south coast, one in Yorks?] history & opinions please

2. Osprey

Going to be used purely for cruising, appreciate any opinions positive & negative,
Cheers!

Hi, think the one on the south coast you are refering to is north shore, better known for producing Fisher Yachts although they did dabble in ribs in the mid 90s. Nothing to write home about. Or it could be BWM Ribs who share hull linage with Northcraft as I think they both bought moulds from a cheshire company in the late 80s.

Osprey, great ribs (and IMHO still one of the best handling hulls around) although now at a premium, price but loved by the Europeans. Considering the number build suprisingly few come onto the second hand market as owners tend to hold on to them, nuff said ?

Osprey for sale

Hi, There was a 7.2 Osprey Lynx on E-Bay (Item number: 2491226383) which twice failed to make its reserve (first opened at £5000 and subsequently at £3500). I came across what I think is the same boat on adtrader.co.uk
http://www.diamondfreeads.co.uk/clas...arch_words=rib
on offer at £8500, lying in Havant. It seems like a sound boat. Might be worth a look. I quite fancy it myself!

Hi I have a Viper, not the fastest boat in the world!
But very stable, good deep V hull, comfortable dry ride, loads of deck space (nice & wide), Strong & well built!
A boat that just fills you with confidence!
Well I would say that wouldn't I

Agree, and a little bit faster hull than the Viper.
