Just saying hello

Hi fellow ribsters. I just wanted to introduce myself. Only just about to start my 2nd season so have a lot to learn and enjoy reading all the threads. I will try and attach a photo of my little fella (ooh missus) so you can tell me I need to cut my A Frame down ;-)
I have been launching at Conwy but keen to venture out a bit. Taking some hols down at the River Cleddau in July if anyone can tell me what that is like or any good spots to launch in S Wales

PS trying to post a new thread! Can someone tell me how! Off on a tour of Oz this week and mainly travelling east coast from Cairns down to Melbourne/Adelaide. Any tips on hiring a RIB etc would be very welcome.

Nat

Thanks N123. Just realised I posted a photo without my ridiculously tall A Frame which I have to remove to garage the boat. I will have another go.

Hi Doolally,
The Cleddau is a wonderful place to visit, with free launching sites up and down the river, more options with a 4x4 where you can just park above HW mark on some beaches, whilst on the river there are some conservation and low speed area's, with more detail in these links.http://www.milfordmarina.com/uploads...UG_2013_A4.pdf

Weather permiting I would highly recommend exploring the coast outside of the river, there's plenty wildlife still around in July although most seabirds start to migrate by August, we also get large numbers of Bottlenose, Risso and Common Dolphin sometimes in very large groups, It is thought they use the area as a nursing ground and I must say i've seen loads of young calf's some only 18" smiming underbelly of mam or dad whilst following us, worth slowing right down if you encounter a large pod or it gets frightening. there's also a few launch sites closer to the Islands and coastal beaches, fishing is pretty good too, hope you have a nice visit and if i'm about might see you out there.
Have fun!!

have you tried launching at Ty Calch, near Caernarfon, well worth the trip from Conwy and will let you get to the other side of the island

don't take too much notice of Natalie, she's a touch mad

Thanks DF and Chris. Just what I was after. I will let you know how I get on.
You should get a Brig Stig - Stig on a Brig!
I don't think Brig make the 400L any more (?) I got it for the bench seat but actually still have to make the wife sit at the bow or we would never get on plane
