Jockey seat width

Interested to know people's thoughts on jockey seat width. I'm designing a console for me shakey and need to put a fuel tank in the console or under the seat. There is a plastimo one that measures 300mm width x 650mm length x 450mm height and I would like to stick one of these in the jockey seat. I will obviously have to then have a jockey width (at the seat) of around 330-350mm...is this too wide? I think Valiant consoles are able to take this size of tank, anyone got one, if so is it too wide?! If people could post the width of their jockey seats, that would be helpful.

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Tim

Seat Width

Hi Tim,

The seat on the Scorpion is 240mm wide at the top and 370mm wide at the bottom. 240mm is a bit narrow I reckon.

I have just bought some Ribtec jockeys that are 290mm wide at the top. Better, but I've not got cushions on them, or had them in the boat yet.

The Avon has an outhill 2 man console in it and feels really wide. Initially I thought it was too wide but it's actually quite comfortable - you sit ON it rather than it being forced up between your legs!

Thanks duncan, very much appreciated. I have done a bit of CAD and I reckon I can get the seat width down to 325mm.

Any other thoughts anyone?

Cheers

Tim
