I can't talk for earthdog's but my supersport doesn't have a flooding hull, and the hull is totally different shape, the supersport has a very shallow v and a raked bow, the searider deep v etc...

I didn't know what mine was either at first (actually thought it was a searider for a while) as the ce plate had fallen off, did a bit of digging on here and on the net and found out what it was. I then got back in touch with old owner, he found the plate in his shed and confirmed it

I am not sure if you will manage to fit an aux on the back, but maybe...

The supersport has larger diameter tubes than the searider, plus the sealed hull so I am sure it will support your outboard with no problem at all. Mine was a long shaft though?


The plate says 40hp max or 35 on tiller and up to 6 people (though not sure where you would put them!)

That sounds like fun! I know we had lots on this last year with the old outboard so I hope that's still the case. I can't think of any hole in the stern apart from small ones near the top where the steering was bolted on. I just found it a bit lacking in power when we were out with a bit of a swell and 3 of us on it, so I'm hoping I have a bit more power now when I need it.

As for the hull, the guy I bought it off said it had a flooding hull but not sure how to tell?

It's not got a flooding hull. There'd be a big hole in the stern if it did.

I bet he thought it was a Searider.

Now I know. I take it this makes it less stable when it's sitting still, although I have always found it to be fine even in rougher water as we quite often fish off it? Head spinning, even after all this, I still don't know what I have got?

Never mind about the outboard, your Argocat is superb, I had a Supacat with the vw 1900 in, flippin awesome fun. do you take your swimming?

Yes I do I had it out a lot in the winter mostly on ponds and in flood water but its the best thing ever. I have not been brave enough to put my small outboard on it and take it out on the river, well not yet anyway but it will go anywhere and its so much fun and for an 18 hp briggs its got plenty of power.

Good choice of engine too, we ran one of those in the diving club for a while, great engine.

As its a fairly flat bottom it will sit "on the toobs" at rest. The flooding hull in the SR means it sinks a bit at rest and puts the toobs on the water to give it that stability, otherwise it would float on the "V" and be a bit more wobbly.

The only difference is if you stopped alongsde a SR in the wind, you would be blown sideways a faster then the SR, as there is next to nothing below your hull to get a decent grip of the water.

I would guess that's going to make naff all difference to you based on your planned useage.

Flooding hull

Yes i think your right, its not going to make any difference to me at all, but its so good to be finding out more and more about my rib, All i know is that when out on a bit of a choppy sea, its so much more stable than my old fibreglass tub .
